Why Do My Strokes Change In A Real Tennis Match?

mental tennis tiphi, i am 19yrs old. i have started tennis quite late , thats why i have very less match expierence.

i would like to know why whenever i do drills, rally , my strokes are great. my swing is great. but in the match my strokes, swing completely changes.

i know the situations are different in match and rally, but how how does it change my swing??

The reason why the swing and also footwork change in a match is because of tension in your body.

And the tension comes from your emotions; fear, frustration, irritation, doubt, anger and so on.

Every emotion that we experience shows simultaneously in our mind and in our body.

In general emotions affect us in two ways – they either give us too much energy or take energy away from us.

This is called over- and under-activation or arousal.

There is a more detailed article about arousal control on TennisMindGame.com.
