Where Does Tennis Technique Come From?

It’s much easier to learn tennis technique if you understand where it comes from.

You don’t have to swing at the ball in a certain way just because coaches, players, books or “How To Play Tennis” videos tell you to do so.

If you just listen to that advice you can of course develop good tennis technique and strokes.

But if at the same time you understand the principles – the logic – where this technique comes from, you’ll learn much faster and in a more natural way.

This was my goal in a series of articles about the origin of tennis technique.

The first one, The Origin Of Tennis Forehand And Backhand Technique will show you why forehand and backhand have to be played more or less in a very specific way.

The article includes 5 videos to demonstrate this idea visually.

Here is a sample of one of the videos:

The second article, The Origin Of Volley Technique guides in a similar way to understanding why volley technique is the way it is.It also includes videos and pictures of Marcos Baghdatis playing a forehand volley.

Just follow the links above and let me know if your tennis technique improved after reading (and watching) those two articles.

The Origin of Serve Technique is coming soon…
