How Much Can Forgetting One Tennis Tip Cost You
As many of you already know, I sell 3 tennis related digital products on Clickbank besides providing you with tons of free content on TennisMindGame.com and Tennis Thoughts blog.
All these products (2 ebooks and 1 set of videos for tennis beginners - see graphics on the right side) come with a 8 week money back guarantee.
You can always ask for a refund and I just forward the receipt to Clickbank and they refund you in about 5 days.
I don’t ask any questions why you didn’t like them or anything like that. If you ask for a refund, you got it.
But I recently received en email from a lady who bought the Mental Manual for Tennis Winners saying:
In the manual that I bought there were suggestions for various scenarios. There was also a blank space where I could write my “own” strategies.
Although the advice was good, if I could write my own strategies I probably wouldn’t have bought the manual.
I do really enjoy your web site though.
I guess I was hoping there would be more practical advice or drills to get into the zone or a more relaxed state of mind.
I replied to the lady and I want to share my answer with you to clarify why there is a blank space in the Manual and why I think it’s a very good thing to have even-though it’s not a huge book or packed with tons of mental tennis advice.
Hi,
If you stay with competitive tennis for few years (maybe even 10 years or more), you will hear and learn hundreds of advices how to deal with certain situation.
Especially if you are not too shy and actually ask other players how they deal with a pressure situation.
Since we are all different, there is no way only one advice is best for everyone. Some people will play better if they pump up and go for risky play, some people need to calm down.
I’ve listed my tips based on 15 years of competitive tennis that work for me and for many players that I taught. They get you into the right mindset for a specific situation since our mind wants to doubt, fear and hesitate in these situations.
But if you keep this booklet with you for a few years, you might find your own ways of focusing and getting yourself ready for a crucial point.
Maybe you read a tip online or someone gives you a good tip.
Now we are coming to the key point about the manual:
The tip that you heard might change the outcome of the match. If you remember it 4 months after you’ve heard it.
It’s very likely that you won’t remember it if you don’t write it down.
And key point is: do you HATE losing and ENJOY winning so much, that you will do ANYTHING to win?
Even write one tip that you feel really helps you?
If that is not so important to you, then the empty section is not for you. And there is a question if you will remember any of the tips from the ebook.
Most of us don’t have perfect memory and we have to write things down and reread them a couple of times to remember them.
When you are in the third set at 5:5 you will be tired and under a lot of stress. You won’t be able to think clearly and actually there isn’t much time to think.
But you can have the booklet with you or remember the few lines that will change the outcome of that match.
If you really really really want that.
If you actually use the empty section for a few months and write down ideas and tips that worked for you, you won’t be lost in the matches anymore.
I hope you know what I mean by lost. It’s like paddling in a boat changing direction every few seconds and wondering why you don’t get to your goal.
It’s same in tennis - players hit balls having no idea where, how and why do they want to hit them. And then they blame all other factors except taking full responsibility for the outcome of the match.
I’ve heard this 1000 times:
Coach: Hey, how come you were rushing so much with your serve in the last game when you were serving for the match? You didn’t perform your usual ritual of tapping the ball?
Player: Yeah, I was nervous and I forgot.
Now imagine this: the player spent thousands of hours and thousands of dollars practicing tennis, they drove 5 hours to the tournament, slept there in a hotel, paid all the expenses of travel and hotel service, played their first match at 9.00 in the morning, lost because they forgot one tip, traveled back 5 hours and lost the whole weekend not the mention all the sacrifice of their parents - time & money.
And all that time, money and energy was WASTED because they forgot one thing.
That’s what I hate with my players and like with my opponents.
There’s your manual to help you remember crucial tips at crucial times so that you actually move forward in your tennis journey and you are not being stuck at the same level for years.
I hope that paints a better picture of why the Mental Manual is so important and that any price that I put on it is ridiculously low compared to all the expenses I listed above - in case you go to just one tournament and add up everything you paid to get there (and lose).
