How many tournaments has Bolli won? He's a drill sergeant not a teacher of tennis technique. The bigger and higher the loop, the more racket head speed that can be obtained by using gravity rather than opposing muscle groups. Keep the racket head up near your head and then it is always up ready to go FH or BH and to get up high above the head to create natural racket speed created by gravity. Watch Fed's or Pete's looping shots, I'll take there's any day.

Hi,
I have a problem with early raquet preparation when in a match situation, i just can't seem to get my brain to do it, i think i tense up as well, i'm ok most of the time if the ball is coming a bit slower but as soon as i get some fast balls i freeze up, do you think it will happen with time or can you suggest some drills i can do,i have a hit 3 times per week. I have only been playing for 12months. When i am relaxed and just hitting back and forth socially it's pretty good. It's very frustrating!!

Hi ALL,

My forehand is ok if I am hitting a ball that is coming to me with pace, however I have problems with slower balls, I hit it to the net most of the times. Can you help me.

This article dealt only with forehand preparation which to me is more natural. What does one do for backhand?

Hi there,
Nice article, but if I remember well all those years ago when I worked for 4 months in the Bolli Academy in the USA, even the great Bolli said about this backswing of Agassi - "this loop is too high for the average player"

So becareful that you do not make it as big as this.
